COVID -19 – UPDATE

How are we keeping Ghyll Royd safe?

Our absolute top priority is always keeping both our residents and staff safe. At the moment, we have procedures in place to ensure we can do this as best we can.

  • We have thorough infection control and cleaning measures in place throughout the Home to make sure we are keeping the environment as safe as possible.
  • We have extensive supplies of PPE ensuring that both staff and residents are protected.
  • All residents and members of staff are being regularly tested for COVID-19.
  • Vaccinations are now being rolled out across all staff and residents.

How are we supporting residents?

We are working hard to keep the residents reassured and happy in the current restrictions.

  • We are continuing to provide activities in the Home each day. Our Activities Coordinators are working hard to adapt activities within the current restrictions.
  • Our small close-knit teams continue to provide reassurance and a recognised friendly smile to all residents.
  • We are facilitating visits from families and video calls where possible.

How are we supporting our residents’ families & friends?

Our residents wellbeing is important to us, and we understand that visits from family and friends help to support this. We have been working hard to adapt to ensure we can safely allow this.

  • We have installed outdoor Covid-secure visiting pods at each of our homes. These heated visitor centres are fitted with perspex screens and have robust infection control measures in place to allow for safe visits with our residents.
  • We have been facilitating video calls on Skype so you are able to see and talk with your family member in a safe way.
  • We have been regularly updating our residents families via text messages and letters with updates on the Home, and changes in government advice.
We are now accepting new residents. Please call for details.
